Position overview

Freelance Sales Engineer / Representative — UAE

SAS Middle East FZC is expanding its market reach and seeks a motivated freelance sales professional to represent our engineering portfolio. This is a part-time, commission-based engagement — not a full-time employed position. You work independently, on your own schedule, with direct support from our technical and project teams when opportunities move to quotation or delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Project acquisition — identify and pursue new business across manufacturing, oil & gas, utilities, food processing and OEM sectors.
  • Lead generation — build and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospects aligned with SAS products and services.
  • Client representation — present SAS professionally in meetings, site visits and industry events across the UAE.
  • Opportunity qualification — understand customer requirements and brief our engineers on viable projects.
  • Daily reporting — provide concise end-of-day updates on client activity, meetings, leads and sales progress.
  • Proposal support — coordinate inputs for quotations and follow up until close or handover to delivery.

Locations

Operation in all UAE

We hire across the UAE and operate in every emirate. You will represent SAS in the field, coordinate with our engineering team at Sharjah HQ, and build relationships with clients nationwide.

UAE-wide — operations across all seven emirates:

  • Abu Dhabi
  • Dubai
  • Sharjah
  • Ajman
  • Umm Al Quwain
  • Ras Al Khaimah
  • Fujairah

SAS Middle East FZC is headquartered in Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah. We welcome candidates from any emirate and hire across the UAE — where you live is not the deciding factor. This is a field role, however: you must be willing and able to travel regularly for client meetings, site surveys and industry events throughout the country.

SAS engineering activities — automation, robotics, IoT, AI and IntelliLink products

What we do

You should understand — and be able to explain — what SAS delivers.

SAS is not a generic trading company. We design and build IntelliLink® connectivity products (encoder bridges and hubs, dual-CAN gateways, panel climate systems) and deliver full engineering services: PLC/SCADA integration, robotics, OPC UA / MQTT, predictive maintenance, AI process optimisation, EOAT design, reverse engineering and OEM co-development.

Successful candidates can hold a credible technical conversation, recognise where our products fit, and know when to bring in our application engineers.

  • IntelliLink encoder, gateway and ClimaLink product lines
  • Industrial automation, robotics and IoT integration
  • AI solutions for process, food and kitchen operations
  • Custom hardware, protocols and OEM partnerships

Candidate profile

Requirements

Must have

Essential criteria — all required

  • Valid UAE residence visa for the full duration of the engagement.
  • Valid UAE driving licence — essential for client visits, site surveys and meetings across the Emirates.
  • UAE resident for at least 3 years with established local market knowledge.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, IoT, robotics or related engineering solutions — you can explain what SAS does and recognise qualified opportunities.
  • Fluent English — clear written and verbal communication with clients and our internal team.
  • Daily availability for reporting — committed to submitting client and sales activity updates every working day.
  • Self-motivated and organised — comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred

Advantageous, not mandatory

  • Arabic language skills.
  • Proven track record in technical or solution sales (automation, instrumentation, robotics, IoT).
  • Existing network in manufacturing, oil & gas, utilities, food processing or system integration.
  • Experience representing engineering firms, integrators or industrial product vendors.

Compensation & benefits

Uncapped earning potential on your own schedule

As a strictly commission-based role, you will have uncapped earning potential while working on your own schedule.

Your responsibilities will include project acquisition, lead generation, and client representation — supported by a generous commission structure linked to pipeline contribution and closed revenue.

  • Engagement: Part-time freelance — you manage your own hours around agreed targets.
  • Earnings: Commission on closed business; structure and tiers agreed before start.
  • 90-day review: Commission model and KPIs formally confirmed at the three-month mark.
  • Support: Technical backing from SAS engineers, product literature and proposal assistance.

Shortlisted candidates receive full commercial terms in writing before engagement begins. Performance is tracked through your daily client and sales updates.
