How It Works
Ingest on the machine side — publish on the plant side.
Your OEM controller stays in charge. The adapter listens, builds a clear state model, and publishes northbound to the edge you already run (or that SAS commissions with you).
ETH1 — Machine
Static or cell-VLAN link to the controller network. Read allowed tags (e.g. Modbus TCP, OPC UA) and/or 24 V digital inputs for run/idle/fault/cycle.
Tag engine
Normalises RUN / IDLE / STOPPED / FAULT, running hours, counts, cycle timing and heartbeat — ready for dashboards and CMMS meters.
ETH2 — Plant
Publishes to the on-prem edge over MQTT and/or OPC UA client. Store-and-forward protects against short network outages.
Service USB
Commissioning and firmware service only — not the production data path. Sealed production units keep USB disabled by default.
I/O & Fieldbuses
DI/DO 16/16 expandable — plus RS485, CAN and other buses.
Base dual Ethernet covers many PLC/Ethernet jobs. When tags are locked or the machine speaks serial/CAN, we add channels and buses to match the survey — not a one-size blank board.

How is it different from the AI Hardware Interface?
This industrial Ethernet adapter is the per-cell dual-ETH unit for state, hours and plant MQTT/OPC UA — with expandable DI/DO, RS485 and CAN when needed. The AI Hardware Interface is the usual starting point when you need a broader analog/digital/protocol mix into a timed AI feed. Both sit in the IntelliLink family.
Does it replace the PLC?
No. The OEM controller stays in charge. The adapter listens, models state and hours, and publishes northbound. Safety circuits are not replaced.
Is cloud required?
No. This adapter is designed for on-premise edge stacks. Cloud reporting is optional at the plant layer.
